BRIEF OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

- Dr. Ajay completed his MBBS from GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE, TRIVANDRUM in 2005 and his Diploma in Anaesthesiology in 2010 from GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE, CALICUT.

- He did his Compulsory Rotating Residential Internship (CRRI) from October 2004- October 2005 from Government Medical College, Trivandrum.

- After graduating, he worked in posts:

  • Assistant Surgeon from November 2005 to May 2006 at Primary Health Centre, Kayyur, Kasaragod.
  • Casualty Medical Officer at Unity Hospital, Kasargod.
  • Resident at department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care at Calicut Medical College(2008-2010).
  • Worked as Anesthesiologist, Casualty medical officer and RMO in THQH Perumbavoor, Adimali and General Hospital, Pala, Kottayam(2010 - 2013)
  • Anaesthesiologist at Tata Global Beverages Limited, Munnar (2013-2016) before joining CRAFT Hospital and Research Centre in September 2016.

Demonstrated skills

- As anaesthesia junior Consultant, single handedly managed Dept of Anaesthesiology while working as anaesthesiologist at Tata Global Beverages Ltd general hospital, Munnar.

- Competent to work under stress, identify and manage the complications without delay.

- Worked as a team with surgeons, orthopaeditians and gynaecologists.

- Activities including preoperative evaluation and assessment of the patient, preparation and pre medication of the patient.

- Fully functional theatres for general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, with 24 hrs on-call for emergency surgeries.

- Conducted major surgeries under general anaesthesia, central neuraxial blockade (spinal & epidural) and regional blocks.

- Actively resuscitated new borns especially during the odd hours and attended calls for resuscitating collapsed patients in the emergency room.

- Attended calls from other departments for securing iv access in difficult intravenous cannulation, ryles tube insertion etc.

- Conducted classes for the staff nurses, nursing students, nursing assistants and attenders about universal precautions, aseptic techniques, code and conduct inside theatres.

- Conducted technical sessions on basic life support, advanced life support, cardiopulmonary resuscitation for the doctors

- Worked as Anesthesiologist, Casualty medical officer and RMO in THQH Perumbavoor, Adimali and General Hospital, Pala, Kottayam(2010 - 2013), where

  • He addressed and discussed problems of the staffs, colleagues and general public concerned to the hospital.
  • He was responsible for the staff attendance and registers.
  • He was In charge of the duty rosters for the doctors and paramedics.
  • He was in-charge of the ambulance and the log book inspection.
  • He conducted stock inspections and stock register verifications periodically.

  • The Pullumedu tragedy in January 2011,
  • Kundala dam boat accident at Munnar in September 2010.

Accreditations

- Fellowship and hands on training in ultrasound guided nerve blocks, at jubilee mission medical college, Thrissur.

- Hands on training in palliative care at regional cancer centre (RCC), Trivandrum, trained in the use of oral morphine for treating cancer patients suffering from pain.

- Attended essential pain management (EPM) workshop as delegate & instructor in association with fpm (anzca).

- Various workshops at hospital level.

- Attended the workshop by the pollution control board Kerala , on hospital waste management guidelines discussion.

- Participated as delegate in Anaesthesia Conferences, South zone.

- Participated in workshop of HIV/aids conducted by IMA and NACO in 2006.
